Udyam Registration and Udyam Assist: what happened?

A tiny workshop or roadside unit often has no formal identity, so it cannot get bank credit or Government support. Udyam gives every MSME a registration number in minutes. Udyam Assist goes further down, to micro units that are not even in the GST or income-tax net.

Registration steps: Aadhaar, PAN validation, enterprise details, self-declaration, then an instant e-Certificate with a Udyam Registration Number.
Benefits: access to MSME schemes, easier credit, protection against delayed payments, public procurement and market promotion.
Udyam Assist Certificates are issued through authorised partners such as banks and NBFCs.
