PMAY-Urban: what happened?

PMAY-U began in June 2015 with the aim of Housing for All. PMAY-U 2.0 covers an additional 1 crore EWS, LIG and MIG families in towns and cities, with annual income up to ₹9 lakh.

Of the 2.09 lakh new houses, about 1.42 lakh are under Beneficiary Led Construction (up to ₹2.5 lakh help).
67,045 houses are under Affordable Housing in Partnership.
16,662 houses went to senior citizens; 21,954 to SC, 14,252 to ST and 75,511 to OBC beneficiaries.
Houses are in the name of the female head or in joint ownership.
