What happened

  • After the GST rate cuts, the National Consumer Helpline received 3,981 GST-related dockets: 31% queries and 69% grievances; 1,992 grievances were sent to CBIC [PIB].
  • Many complaints came from confusion about which goods got cheaper; a large share concerned milk prices. CCPA is reviewing them for possible class action [PIB].
