Barabanki-Bahraich highway to open up Shravasti
The Union Cabinet approved a 101.51 km four-lane access-controlled Barabanki-Bahraich stretch of NH-927 at a capital cost of ₹6,969.04 crore, the Road Ministry said on 26 March 2026. Built on Hybrid Annuity Mode, it will cut travel time from about 150 to 75 minutes and improve access to the Buddhist site of Shravasti.
UPPCS angle: GS-V/VI: infrastructure and Buddhist heritage of UP. Pair Shravasti with Rupaidiha and eastern UP growth.
