DGGI busts illegal pan masala and gutkha units in Chitrakoot and Banda
DGGI's Lucknow Zonal Unit busted a clandestine pan masala, jarda and gutkha operation across six premises in Chitrakoot and Banda (PIB, 21 August 2026). It found 27 undeclared pouch-packing machines and detected evasion of GST, HSNS Cess and Central Excise of about ₹185 crore. The proprietor was arrested.
