Agra’s Kuberpur dumpsite cleared under SBM-U

What happened
- Agra Municipal Corporation removed legacy waste at the Kuberpur landfill (in use since 2007) by bioremediation and biomining [PIB].
- A 300 TPD waste-to-compost plant set up in 2019 was later expanded to 500 TPD [PIB].
Background
- The work began in 2019 under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban [PIB].
Why it matters
- Clearing an old dump only lasts if fresh waste is processed daily; the compost plant is what keeps the site clean.
