On 9 September 2026 the foundation stone of the BEDF Basmati and Organic Training Centre cum Demonstration Farm was laid at Tanda Bijeshi, Pilibhit. It is a joint project of APEDA and the Basmati Export Development Foundation. It will offer quality Basmati seed, training in organic farming and export support to farmers and FPOs.

The Basmati training centre at Pilibhit: what happened?
Basmati is grown for export, and buyers demand pure seed and low chemical residue. Pilibhit, in the Terai, has strong potential, so a training farm there helps growers meet those needs.
- MoS Jitin Prasada laid the foundation stone of the BEDF Basmati and Organic Training Centre cum Demonstration Farm at Tanda Bijeshi, Pilibhit [PIB].
- It is a joint project of APEDA and the Basmati Export Development Foundation (BEDF) [PIB].
- The farm will demonstrate notified Basmati varieties, pest and disease management, organic inputs, IPM and INM [PIB].
