On 7 April 2026 the UP Cabinet approved a bridge over the Ganga at Chiyasar Ghat near Chyavan Rishi Ashram in Chhibramau, Kannauj, with approach roads and protection works, on EPC mode at ₹28899.22 lakh. Today only boats cross here, and they stop in the rains. About 4 lakh people of Kannauj and Hardoi will benefit.

At Chiyasar Ghat the only way across the Ganga is by boat, and boats stop during the monsoon. Then villages on both banks are cut off. A bridge turns a seasonal crossing into an all-weather link.
