What changed from 2023
- The General Prelims cut-off moved to 87.98 from 75.41 (up 12.57). A higher line usually means a more scoring paper, where accuracy decided who got through.
- Mains (written) for General: 729 against 741 (down 12). The final cut-off: 947 against 953 (down 6).
- EWS Prelims: 85.92 (was 68.02). OBC: 87.28 (was 74.75). SC: 79.03 (was 59.25). ST: 74.23 (was 47.82).
- Vacancies: 1,129, 14 fewer than 2023 (1,143). Fewer seats usually push the final cut-off up.
Cut-offs are a moving line, and that is good news: they reward the candidate who prepares for any paper, not the one who guesses the number. Practise with the real 2024 questions below and you will see exactly where those marks came from.
